Arriving & getting in
How do I find Merrymeet?
The address is Merrymeet, Back O’th Brook, Waterfall, Waterhouses, Staffordshire ST10 3JA. Use Google Maps or see our How to Arrive page.
Which way should we approach?
Approach via the main village of Waterfall. The final lanes are narrow village roads, so please don’t arrive in a minibus or coach.
How do we get in?
Merrymeet has keypad entry. We send your check-in details, including the door code, 2 to 3 days before you arrive.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am. Early check-in or late check-out can be added for £125, subject to availability.
What’s provided & what to bring
What’s provided?
Bed linen, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, Starlink Wi-Fi and a games room with table tennis and table football. Cot linen isn’t provided. See the kitchen inventory.
What should we bring?
Food and drink, kitchen consumables such as foil and cling film, toiletries, and anything for your celebration. If you’re bringing dogs, bring their bed, bowls and a towel.
Is there a hot tub?
No, hot tubs aren’t allowed at Merrymeet.
Is there a shop nearby?
Yes, there’s a village shop in Waterhouses, and supermarkets in Ashbourne and Leek, about 20 minutes’ drive.
House rules
Can we play music?
Merrymeet is in a small village with neighbours, so please keep music and noise to a considerate level, especially late in the evening and outside.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, for £40 per dog. The garden isn’t fenced in, so dogs can get out; please supervise them outside.
Can we have day guests?
Day guests are £25 per person. Please ask us before you book.
Can we do activities in the garden?
The garden is on a slope, so we don’t recommend outdoor activities there.
Security deposit & leaving
How much is the security deposit?
£500, paid by bank transfer 2 weeks before arrival. We’ll email you when it’s due.
When is the security deposit returned?
Within 14 days of departure, as long as there’s no breakage or damage and the house is left clean and tidy.

Are there ground-floor bedrooms?
Yes. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bath and shower rooms on the ground floor.
Can we book Merrymeet with Hamps Hall and Barn?
Yes. Together they sleep 56. Call us on 01273 271 332.
Is there a pub nearby?
Yes, the Red Lion Inn at Waterfall is less than half a mile away.
